PTA to extend cooperation to Afghan telecom

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and Afghanistan Telecom Regulatory Authority (ATRA) have agreed to enhance mutual cooperation in the field of telecommunication while the PTA would extend help to ATRA for the furtherance of telecom services in Afghanistan.

This was decided in a meeting of both the authorities at the PTA headquarters on Friday. This high level delegation was headed by Chairman ATRA Zakaria Hassan, who is presently visiting Pakistan.

On this occasion, Chairman PTA Mohammed Yaseen briefed the delegation on Pakistan telecom sector’s development. He said that Pakistan had made unprecedented progress in mobile and fixed telephone sectors and Internet services. staff report
