Islamabad: 13,237 issued tickets for lane violation

Islamabad: In order to control road accidents and maintain traffic discipline, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has started a campaign to issue lane violation tickets to the road users, said SSP (Traffic), Dr. Sultan Azam Temuri.

He stated this while reviewing a report of a special campaign launched by ITP against lane violation, which revealed that 13,237 traffic violation tickets have been issued during the last three months, a spokesman of the ITP said.

SSP Traffic Islamabad Dr. Sultan Azam Temuri directed the ITP personnel to take strict action against lane violators especially on Islamabad Expressway.

He said lane violation causes road accidents. He advised the citizens to abide by the lane discipline while driving and avoid violating it, as disciplined traffic system in the country reflects the discipline of a nation.
