ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Friday said 16 illegal stone crushers were working on Margalla Hills near Islamabad and would be closed down within two weeks.
Responding to a call attention notice moved by MNA Nafisa Shah, Shahnaz Wazir Ali and others in the National Assembly, he said Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration took over charge of Margalla Hills from the Punjab government in 1995 and cancelled 31 mining leases to stone crushers. However, he said 16 illegal crushers were still working and show-cause notices had been issued to them.
