LAHORE: The State Management Directorate-I of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has recovered occupied public land in an operation on Thursday, which continued for eight hours and involved crossfire with the residents.
A press statement issued by the department said on Friday the authorities had previously evacuated a house in Johar Town from the same occupants, who reoccupied the place after a few days. Senior government officials were informed of on-the-ground situation. The resistance offered by the occupants was so severe that the authorities had to call the police squads from Sattokatla, Johar Town, PCSIR and Wapda Town Police Stations, the statement said. staff report
