PUNJAB Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal on Thursday inaugurated FM Radio Rasta 88.8 of Lahore traffic police to guide the citizens about the flow of traffic on the city roads. After completion of three-month test transmission, the radio started regular transmission on Sunday.

DIG Ghalib Ali Bandesha and Chief Traffic Officer Mirza Shakeel Ahmed were also present. The CTO said that the radio station would help the people know situation of traffic on the city roads. He said that during 24 hours the radio would guide the people to reach Allama Iqbal Airport, timings of flights, weather forecast besides broadcasting different programmes about traffic awareness.



He said different entertainment programmes would also be presented. He said no advertisement would be given on this radio and all information for security of the people and information about the alternative routes would be provided to the people. Radio transmission could also be listened at the website of the Lahore traffic police - http://www.rasta.pk. All staff working at the radio station was from the traffic police.
