Funds Approved for Various Development Projects, Including Link Road Interchange in Karachi
Karachi: The Sindh cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Maqbool Baqar at CM House in Karachi, has given the green light for funds allocated to diverse development projects. A news report on December 27 highlighted the approval of PKR 1.1 billion specifically for the construction of a link road interchange, although the precise location remains unspecified.
Among the sanctioned projects are:
- Electric Buses: An allocation of PKR 768.6 million for the operation of 50 electric buses on city roads.
- Subsidy for People’s Buses: Approval of a subsidy amounting to PKR 579.756 million for intra-district people’s buses.
- Khirthar National Park: Approval of PKR 33.956 million for the boundary demarcation and fixing of boundary pillars in Khirthar National Park.
- West District Schools: An earmarked budget of PKR 1424.720 million for the reconstruction of three schools in the West district.
- Hindu Gymkhana Restoration: Approval of Rs 115 million for the restoration of the Hindu Gymkhana.
The meeting was attended by provincial caretaker ministers, Chief Secretary Dr Fakhre Alam, P&D Chairman Sahkil Mangnejo, and other relevant officers.
