RDA Takes Legal Action Against Five Unlawful Housing Societies, Files FIRs

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has recently initiated legal action by filing First Information Reports (FIRs) against five housing societies in a bid to halt the promotion and construction of unauthorized housing projects. These housing initiatives were found to be offering plots for sale without having acquired the necessary Non-Objection Certificates (NOCs) from the RDA.

The five projects in question include Cargo Village near the new Islamabad International Airport in Mouza Katarian, Theme Park View along the Chontra to Chak Beli Khan Link road in Mouza Sukho, Khan Builders in Mouza Chahan, Heaven Dave in Mouza Misriot, Al-Imran Homes on Chakri Road in Mouza Sihal, and Khan Builders in Mouza Chahan.

As per an RDA representative, the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) directorate is actively pursuing legal remedies against the unlawful advertising and marketing of these ventures. It's worth noting that notices were duly served to these projects prior to the initiation of FIRs.

The RDA has issued a stern warning to the public against engaging with initiatives lacking valid NOCs. The RDA has made it clear that any marketing, advertising, or development activities conducted under its jurisdiction without the requisite NOC are strictly prohibited.
