CDA Takes Action Against 7,867 Unauthorized Structures in Islamabad

Islamabad: The Directorate of Enforcement within the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has successfully demolished more than 7,867 illegal structures found in various locations across the federal capital within the span of a year and a half.

During these operations, a total of 13,243 items belonging to encroachers were confiscated and subsequently auctioned off. Additionally, the CDA has collected fines amounting to Rs5.126 million as penalties from those who trespassed on restricted areas.

Sources within the CDA revealed that the Directorate of Enforcement has executed 1,423 anti-encroachment operations throughout the entire Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).

"The Directorate has been consistently and actively engaged in anti-encroachment efforts across Islamabad to combat unauthorized constructions within the ICT," they said.

These ongoing operations are carried out 24/7, demonstrating the CDA's commitment to recovering state land from land grabbers and encroachers. The Directorate of Municipal Administration, under the administrative control of the Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI), is responsible for overseeing these efforts.

When it comes to the safety and well-being of citizens, emergency medical assistance, and water supply along hiking trails, the CDA emphasized the presence of forest guards who patrol the Margalla Hills National Park trails throughout the day.

"To protect wildlife, no water pipelines or electricity supply is allowed within Margalla Hills National Park except in designated villages," they added.
