CDA approved construction of linking road from Margalla Avenue to M1

Islamabad: CDA has finally approved the construction of a road that will link Margalla Avenue with The Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway (M-1). The project aims to reduce traffic congestion and minimize travel time.

The project was approved by Capital Development Authority’s Chairman, Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, at a meeting held at CDA-DWP. The project is estimated to be completed in a timeframe of 8 months.

According to the details of the project, the road comprises of 6-lane road facility, and it also includes the construction of an interchange at N-5. According to an estimate, the project’s total cost will be approximately 55 million PKR.

It is pertinent to note here that the land required to construct the projected road is divided between the premises of twin cities. Hence 1.8 km is in Rawalpindi, and the rest is 1.6 km in Islamabad. The CDA has taken responsibility for constructing roads under Islamabad’s jurisdiction.
