Full Version: Walled City Of Lahore Authority Asks For The Approval Of Over Rs 2 Billion Projects

For the restoration of old Lahore, the Walled City of Lahore has asked for the approval of Rs. 2.26 billions. Different packages have been sent to local authorities and final decision is yet to be taken by Development Department.

Keeping in context the construction works from Delhi Gate to Kotwali Chowk, the Old Lahore Project will be undertaken to save the cultural heritage of inner Lahore. Major part of project is the restoration of Akbari Mandi, Kotwali Chowk, Choona Mandi Chowk, Moti Bazar and Purani Kotwali to Sunehri Mosque, which will consume Rs. 73.96 crores.

Furthermore, for the restoration and embellishment of houses and shops in Bazar Hakeeman and Bhaati Gate, Rs.52.42 crores will be surfed. PTCL, WASA, City Government, Board of Revenue, Housing and Public Health Department, International Development Agency, LWMC and other related departments will also support the Walled City Authority in this project.
