ISLAMABAD - The Capital Development Authority (CDA) board has decided to vacate 700 flats located in Sector G-6 from the officials of the Islamabad Police.

The civic body has also decided to name three roads after Mansha Yad, Tufail Niazi and other personalities. The decision was taken in a meeting presided over by Chairman CDA, Syed Tahir Shahbaz the other day.

The board expressed grave concerns over the occupation of more than 700 flats in Sector G-6 by the officials of Islamabad Police and decided to vacate the. A detailed report would be formed in this connection and approved by the board. Then, the CDA would get the flats vacated through proper legal channel with the help of Enforcement Department. The CDA board also decided to launch a rapid transit bus service (metro bus service) in the federal capital. The CDA would launch the metro bus service in collaboration with Rawalpindi administration to facilitate the residents of Islamabad and Rawalpindi alike. Meanwhile, the Capital Development Authority has given approval for starting Rapid Transit Transport System in the federal capital. Sources in CDA said that the project would cost Rs 5 billion. The CDA officials have started accumulating funds from the relevant departments to realise the plan.

The project will facilitate the locals making them travel easily across the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
