LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to discontinue observing Saturday as a weekly holiday with effect from Nov 27.
The provincial government also notified on Saturday winter timings for its offices.
The new timings will be: 8am to 3pm (from Monday to Thursday and for Saturday) and 8am to 12 noon for Friday.
According to sources, the federal government too is considering discontinuing the five-day work week.
Raja Pervez Ashraf, the Minister for Water and Power, has of late been dropping hints to this effect.
