LUCKNOW: Scores of allottees in Mansarovar Housing Scheme on Kanpur Road could not be handed over plots, just because the plots were dug up, reportedly, by some contractors.
A batch of LDA officials, who visited the site for an inspection on Tuesday, found the area dug up. A red-faced LDA vice-chairman, Mrityunjay Kumar immediately ordered an inquiry into the incident and ordered speedy handover of the plots to the allottees.
The case pertains to sector O-1, O-2, O-3 and O-4, where plots were found to be converted into huge pits. Kumar put it down to be a case of mud theft.
Meanwhile, the squad also inspected an under-construction complex on Kanpur Road. Kumar asked the officials to speed up the construction work. LDA officials also assessed the possibilities of constructing a food court on the top floor of the complex.
The enforcement squad of LDA also went on an inspection drive around Gomtinagar. Directions pertaining to sealing of buildings constructed against the land use were given.
