ISLAMABAD – Civil society members, people from different walks of life gathered on Sunday near Damn-e-Koh to pay respects to the victims of AirBlue’s plane crashed in the Margalla Hills.
Citizens of Islamabad, members of civil society, Pakistan Youth Alliance and Shahoor Society organised the event to pay respects and pray for the departed souls.
They expressed solidarity with the families of the victims. A large number of people laid floral wreaths and lit candles in the memory of the deceased.
Families and friends of the victims also laid floral wreaths and prayed for their loved ones. Members of the Youth Parliament came to show their solidarity with the families of victims.
Civil society members demanded of the Government to conduct a proper investigation in the incident and make it public so the families of the victims and people of Pakistan should know what was the main cause of the crash, which took 152 lives.
The Youth Alliance Pakistan demanded that the disaster management ability of the civic authorities should be made more efficient so people in need get help in time.
Families of the victims also demanded a fair investigation. Members of the civil society also displayed a banner bearing names of the victims, which was later signed by their friends and family members of the victims.
