ISLAMABAD: The government has decreased POL prices form one to eight percent effective from today July 1, 2010 on Wednesday. The price of petrol has been decreased by Rs 1.09 per litre, HOBC by Rs 1.43 per litre, kerosene oil by Rs 0.11 per litre, LDO by Rs 0.95 per litre, HSD by Rs 4.14 per litre, JP-1 (local) by Rs 0.16 per litre, JP-4 by Rs 1.17 per litre and JP-8 by Rs 0.17 per litre. The new prices are: petrol will be sold at Rs 67.95 per litre, HOBC at Rs 80.61 per litre, kerosene at Rs.65.38 per litre, LDO at Rs 61.66 per litre, HSD at Rs 71.58 per litre, JP-1 (local) at Rs 55.20 per litre, JP-4 at Rs 51.46 per litre and JP-8 at Rs 54.91 per litre. The government would continue charging Rs 10 per litre as petroleum levy on petrol, Rs 8 per litre on HSD, Rs 14 per litre on HOBC, Rs 3 per litre on LDO and Rs 6 per litre on kerosene oil. Addressing a press conference, OGRA spokesman Syed Jawad Naseem said due to a decrease in PoL prices in the Arab Gulf market, the average furnace oil price had decreased from $ 471.24 per metric tons to $446.11 per metric ton on July1, 2010. zeeshan javaid
