‘Musharraf can hold president’s post even if impeachment successful’

ISLAMABAD: President Pervez Musharraf can continue to be the president of Pakistan even if the impeachment move is successful, Deputy Attorney General Raja Abdul Rehman said on Monday. Talking to a private TV channel, Rehman said that Musharraf could use his powers during the impeachment proceedings and the possibility of using Article 58(2b) could not be ruled out either. The issue of impeachment would be taken up by the Supreme Court of Pakistan in case of dissolution of assemblies by the president, he added. online
