CDA to launch uplift work in I-9, I-10 sectors
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has initiated a programme for carrying out necessary maintenance and up-gradation work in the federal capital commencing from the sectors I-9 and I-10.

CDA Member Engineering Sanaullah Aman said that on the direction of CDA Chairman Syed Tahir Shahbaz a comprehensive programme has been chalked out for different up-gradation activities including improvement of roads, streetlights, sewerage system, drainage network and water supply in different sectors of Islamabad.

He said that CDA chairman has directed that development and maintenance activities should focus on G and I series sectors to improve the civic amenities like those available in the F series sectors of Islamabad.

He was addressing a reception hosted by the civil society in Sector I-10 for completing different development projects of maintenance, road carpeting and improvement of water supply in the sector.

Sanaullah Aman said that CDA has replaced six old water pumps of tube-wells in this sector with the energy efficient water pumps sponsored by USAID and has also improved the water supply lines to maximise the availability of water for the residents. He said that 10 new water filtration plants have been approved for installation in the city and the G and I series sectors are being given preference in this regard.

He said that CDA is coordinating with the civil society organisations and NGOs for improving civic amenities in the city. He said that special awareness campaign has been launched for the conservation of water and cleanliness of the city.
