Karachi—A meeting of the DHA Executive Board chaired by its President (PEB), Corps Commander Lt. Gen Muhammad Zahirul Islam, was held at Headquarters five Corps to review various policy/functional matters of DHA. Administrator DHA, Brig Aamer Raza Qureshi, apprised the Executive Board about the progress made on the ongoing DHA’s mega projects.

A DHA statement on Tuesday said that the Executive Board was informed that DHA had been making proactive and concerted efforts for the last one year to make the stalled Cogen plant operational and that in this regard a significant breakthrough had been made.

Root Cause Analysis and Third Party Evaluation of Cogen plant had been successfully completed by Siemens and Ficthner (Germany) and the technical reports did not indicate any structural discrepancy/fault in Cogen plant’s design. The Board was further informed that a leading international energy sector firm was in the process of acquiring the management control of Cogen plant from the present owner AEI; the firm would arrange necessary funds/investment required for rehabilitation of the plan
