Lahore—The Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) has allocated Rs 60.34 billion for the provision of loans to the farmers to get maximum yield of Rabi and Kharif crops during the current year.

According to a spokesman of Agriculture Department Punjab, the availability of loans to the farmers through One Window Operation for Rabi crops has been started which would remain continue till January 3, 2011. The Agri department has advised the farmers to get benefit by the facility of loan disbursement through One Window Operation and purchase agricultural inputs for Rabi crops in time.

The spokesman said that farmers possessing upto 25 acres irrigated and 50 acres Barani land were eligible to get loan through pass book system. For this purpose, Mobile Credit Officer would receive applications on every Monday at centre level and the bank would issue loan within three days, he added.

The agri department was paying special attention to ensure the availability of quality seed and promotion of mechanized farming so that maximum area could be brought under cultivation for maximum produce.
