Date for payment of taxes/duty extended up to September 25

ISLAMABAD (September 17 2010): The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has extended the date for payment of taxes/duty for the tax period August 2010, and filing of Sales Tax/FED returns, upto September 25, 2010. In this regard, the FBR on Thursday issued instructions to the Chief Commissioner of all Large Taxpayer Units (LTUs) and Regional Tax Offices (RTOs).

According to the FBR instructions, in exercise of powers conferred under Section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990 and Section 43 of the Federal Excise Act, 2005, the FBR has extended the date for payment of taxes/duty for the tax period August, 2010, and filing of sales tax/FED returns, upto September 25, 2010.
