Residential scheme director, sub-engineer suspended

Lahore: The Housing and Urban Development secretary on Thursday suspended Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency Bhakkar director Nisar Ahmad Zahid and sub-engineer Rasheed Ahmad on charges of malpractice in the Area Development Scheme (ADS) Layyah III.

According to sources, Chief Secretary Javed Mehmood received complaints that the contractor of ADS Layyah III was using sub-standard material in the residential scheme with the help of Nisar Ahmad Zahid and Rasheed Ahmad. He directed the housing secretary to take action and investigate further into the matter through the Layyah district co-ordination officer.

The DCO’s report found the officers guilty, upon which the Housing secretary issued their suspension orders.

Javed Mehmood directed the Housing secretary to prepare a charge sheet and take disciplinary action against the officers so that individuals involved in such mal-practices could be taken to task. staff report
