Senate body for withdrawal of fines from I-16 allottees
ISLAMABAD (July 13 2010): The Senate Functional Committee on Government Assurances on Monday asked Capital Development Authority (CDA) to withdraw notices issued to allottees of I-16 for imposition of fines due to delays in initiation of construction work. The Committee was of the view that CDA has failed to provide necessary facilities needed for undertaking construction work to the allottees.

The Committee reviewed in detail the progress about development work going on in sector I-16 and said that the sector was meant for poor and middle class who is in need of accommodation, but the authority could not deliver services. Cabinet Secretary as well as Member (Planning) and other officers of CDA briefed the committee about development activities in the sector.
