KARACHI: The City District Government Karachi (CDGK) is formulating a new policy for solid waste management and Executive District Officer (EDO) Masood Alam has asked deputy town health officers of the city to furnish suggestions for this purpose. The meeting to discuss the new policy was held on Monday, following which Alam told Daily Times that deputy town health officers have been directed to furnish details on the expenditures that have been incurred on the solid waste management since Aug 14, 2001. The information would be used to compile a compact solid waste management policy by comparing expenditures incurred by other megacities of the world for this purpose. staff report
