THE Lahore Development Authority on Friday decided to recruit 82 retired army men, besides posting 32 officials in its enforcement wing to efficiently carry out drive against encroachments.

Officials said Muhammad Yaqoob Raza was posted as director Enforcement while Khwaja Javed Aslam, who was working as director Enforcement, was posted as director Land Development IV. The services of Hafiz Barkat, Muhammad Mehmood, Muhammad Siddique, Obaidur Rehman, Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Amjad, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Afzal, Muhammad Siddique, Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Ayub, Iftikhar Ali, Abdul Ghafoor, Muhammad Riaz, Ibrar Ali, Sardar Ali, Muhammad Akbar, Muhammad Khalid, Imran Shaukat, Muhammad Fayyaz, Akram, Younas, Faryad, Faisal Mughal, Abdul Sattar, Khalid Mehmood, Sabir Ali, Muhammad Ashgar, Muhammad Raffique, Omar Hayyat and Muhammad Arshad were also handed over to the LDAís enforcement wing.

Meanwhile, the LDA posted its 23 former building inspectors in LDA’s engineering wing, Tepa and Wasa.

Out of 23 former building inspectors, eight were posted in engineering wing, 10 were posted in Tepa and five were posted in Wasa.

7 illegal commercial properties sealed: The Lahore Development Authority sealed seven properties in various localities for illegal commercial activities here on Friday.

Officials said the operation against illegal commercialisation was launched on the special directions of the LDA director general.

They said that on Friday, the special squad of LDA raided a renowned educational institute, Faisal Town, and sealed its premises for not depositing the due commercialisation fee. Other sealed premises were a rest house at 606 A, Faisal Town, a carpet shop at 919 C, Faisal Town, a shoes outlet at 609 C, Faisal Town, a commercial building at 918 C, Faisal Town, four shops constructed on 554 A, Faisal Town, without getting the map approved and a commercial building at 6-F Muslim Town.
