RAWALPINDI – The busiest road of Rawalpindi, Benazir Bhutto Road used by thousands of people on daily basis is now becoming centre of problems including traffic accidents, traffic mess, lack of parking space for vehicles and flourishing encroachment.The flow of traffic on BB Road has become a nightmare for the motorist and commuters due to encroachment, car parked at main road and long queues of vehicles in front of CNG stations which contributed to traffic jam. The BB Road present a look of car showroom as thousands of vehicles can be seen crawling and even more number of cars are parked on the road including on the service roads. Citizens said that the unmanaged BB Road claims many lives, due to the negligence of the concerned authorities and drivers particularly the drivers of the public transport, who ply their vehicles disregarding traffic rules.They said that some part of the BB Road have been virtually occupied by the shopkeepers for different purposes like parking of their cars, displaying of their items and some part of the road is also encroached by the hand-cart pushers.
