LAHORE Development Authority has warned developers and sponsors of all the private housing schemes in its controlled area for completing their schemes in accordance with the approved design and relevant rules within the stipulated time.

LDA directed them to complete it within the time of five years otherwise their mortgaged plots will be confiscated and auctioned for generating cost of completing development works.

The developers have been directed to get approved the designs for construction of infrastructure including roads, water supply, sewerage, electricity, Sui gas and horticulture from the department concerned within six months of the initial approval of the scheme. They have further been directed to execute development works strictly as per the approved designs and that too with the approval of the department concerned. The developers are also required to inform the relevant department in writing before initiating certain development work(s) so that effective monitoring of such work(s) could be ensured by the department concerned. LDA has warned that in case of failure of a scheme in execution of development works within five years or substandard development, LDA will auction the mortgaged plots for completing the development works in the schemes and additional cost will be recovered from the developers, if any.

Notice: Lahore Development Authority has given a final chance to appear before the competent authority, additional director general (HQ), LDA, within seven days to an LDA officer. Mujahid Hamood-ur-Rasool, assistant director (Engineering), LDA, was served show-cause notice on the allegations of non-compliance with transfer order. He was repeatedly asked to join the duty but he did not comply with the orders. He has been directed to appear before the competent authority along with written defence, otherwise, ex- parte decision will be taken against him.

Marriage hall sealed: Staff of the Town Planning Wing of Lahore Development Authority sealed a marriage hall in Garden Town on Tuesday.

Spread over two kanals area in Garden Block, New Garden Town, the marriage hall had been constructed without getting the building plan approved by LDA.
