Residents in Defence and areas around the Cantt Station are concerned for their safety after intelligence reports that terrorists have entered there to carry out attacks.
Sources, citing an intelligence report, said that six bombers had entered Defence to target public places.
The Sindh Police and other law enforcers have upgraded security at sensitive locations to thwart any untoward incident.
Also, strict checking is being carried out across the city, especially DHA. Security officials are focusing on public places such as shopping centers and even graveyards, the sources added.
Due to the terror threat, a cinema in DHA was shut down.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Karachi Saud Ahmed maintained that security was already tight across Karachi and the latest threat only prompted law enforcers to stay more vigilant at sensitive locations.
Ahmed has also directed the Criminal Investigation Department and other investigation units to conduct searches in areas near DHA.
