Hospital offer free medical treatment - Lahore_Real_Estate - 08-30-2010 12:36 PM

LAHORE (APP): The governing body of the "Mumtaz Bukhtawar Memorial Trust Hospitals" on Saturday announced complete free medical treatment to flood victims in the city. Chief Executive, Guard Group of Industries and former President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and VP SAARC CCI, Iftikhar Ali Malik who is also Chairman of governing body of the hospitals expressing his profound grief and sorrow over the causalities and devastation by flood. He told newsmen here this afternoon that those people who sustained injuries in flood related incidents in various flood-hit areas would be provided free of cost medical treatment. He said that special arrangements have been made at both the hospital to meet any eventuality or emergency in the city. He said bulk quantity of medicines, X-ray film and life saving medicines have also been made available. He said that his group was running two centrally air-conditioned 200 beds hospital one each at Wahdat Road and Raiwind Road where flood victims can avail specialised medical treatment including free medicines and food etc. He said by the grace of Allah, not even a single penny was charged from the poor patients in providing medicines and food during their stay in hospitals. He said during the holy month of Ramazan, all trust hospitals have appealed for donations but, he had not done so and decided to meet the hospitals expenses from his personal property which he dedicated towards trust. It may be mentioned here that hospitals were established by the late Chairman of the trust Muhammad Shafi Malik, recipient of civil award Sitra-I-Imtiaz. Other trustees Shahbaz Ali Malik, Shahzad Ali Malik, Waqar Ali Malik, Fauzia Malik and Nusrat Malik also attended the meeting and approved the plan for free treatment of flood victims.
