KARACHI: A man was gunned down and another injured, in a gunfight on Thursday between two groups of the land mafia in Sachal police limits.
SHO Asif Jakhrani said the groups of Raja Fayyaz and Saleem sparred over a disputed land in Qasim Gabool Goth near Safoora Chowrangi.
During an hour-long exchange of fire, Ali Raza, 22, and Raheem alias Rambo, 19, sustained bullet injuries and were taken to a private hospital where Raza succumbed to injuries, the SHO added.
The officer also said both the groups worked together in the past to occupy lands; however, a conflict over a disputed land had caused a rift between them.
Police have registered a case against Raja Irfan, Imran, Zeeshan and Tassawur.
