RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has decided to commence work on six schemes of water supply at the total cost of Rs 9.9 million, sources told Online on Wednesday.

They elaborated the decision was taken to tackle the water shortage that continued to bother the residents of cantonment. They added that under the schemes, pipelines would be laid down in various parts of the area.

A pipeline would be laid down in Gawalmandi area at the cost of Rs 1.74 million. Similarly another pipeline in Westridge would cost Rs 0.87 million.

A water supply scheme would be completed in Westridge at the cost of Rs 0.93million, while another project would be completed at the cost of Rs 4.2million. “These water projects are to be started at the earliest,” they concluded.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Administration of the Potohar Town is to launch a weeklong drive for cleanliness from today (Thursday).

The administration has chalked out a special plan under which 60 workers would perform duties at each union council for two days. online
