ISLAMABAD: Provision of electricity, gas and other allied facilities to Sector D-12 would be completed by June 2010 and the development work of Sector E-12 would be initiated soon, said Capital Development Authority Chairman Imtiaz Inayat Elahi on Thursday. He was presiding over a meeting at CDA Headquarters to review the development work of Sector D-12. The officials told the chairman that development work of Sector D-12 was in full swing to facilitate the allottees of plots, said a press release. The meeting was told that CDA had paid Rs 204.5 million to Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) and handed over 13 kanals of land to it for installation of a grid station in the sector. The meeting said IESCO had awarded the grid station contract and work is in progress, said the meeting. The electricity in the sector would be supplied by June 2010. The meeting was told that 97 percent work for external electrification had been completed. The chairman directed the officials to complete provision of all civic facilities in the sector soon and give possession letters to the allottees so that they could start construction of the houses. Elahi said a park in the Sector D-12 was being developed, whereas the rare and old indigenous trees in the area were being preserved. He said negotiations with the affectees of Sector E-12 for settlement of the compensation issue were in the final stage and development work would be initiated soon. He said CDA was making concrete efforts to develop all the sectors in a phased manner to provide residential facilities in the Federal Capital.
