KARACHI: The Sindh High Court allowed on Friday a constitutional petition filed by a retired colonel, challenging the cancellation of a plot allotted to him.
Colonel (Retd) Maqbool Illahi told Justice Azizullah M. Memon and Justice Khalid Ali Z. Kazi that the plot was allotted in 1966 and ownership was transferred to his name in 1979 after he paid all dues. However, in 2004, he received a letter from DHA, informing him that the plot allotted to him had been cancelled. He submitted this letter to the court and maintains that since all formalities have been completed, DHA has no reason or authority to cancel the allotment.
