LAHORE: Justice Mian Saqib Nisar of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday issued notices to the owners of two commercial plazas in PIA Housing Society and other respondents for January 20 on a petition by the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) seeking the vacation of a stay order earlier granted by the court against the demolition of illegal constructions. The judge postponed the hearing, observing that since the matter was pending in the Supreme Court (SC), it would be in the interest of justice to hear the case after the SC’s decision. The LDA counsel pleaded that both plazas were built in violation of prescribed rules and should be razed. staff report
