LAHORE: Sikh leaders Sardar Darshan Singh and Sardar Gulab Singh on Wednesday lauded the services of Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Syed Asif Hashmi for facilitating both local and foreign members of the Sikh community.
A press statement issued by the leaders said that all the Sikhs in the country were grateful to President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani for appointing Hashmi as the board’s chairman. Hashmi had recently held a meeting with the two Sikh leaders and guardians of the Guru Davara Bebe Nanki, informing them that he had directed all his subordinates to facilitate the country’s minorities, especially the Sikh community. He had said that no one would be allowed to encroach on any of the properties under the ETPB, adding that all minorities were enjoying equal rights under the Pakistan People’s Party-led government. staff report
