ISLAMABAD—Capital Development Authority (CDA) has refused to construct new administration block in the Parliament House until the additional funds are provided for the purpose.
Well placed sources INP on Sunday that the CDA has refused to construct new administration block at Gate No. 5 of the Assembly Secretariat.
Earlier, Assembly Secretariat owing to shortage of offices approved construction of new administration block and an application in this regard was sent to chairman CDA.
However, chairman CDA was of the view that the authority was not in position to undertake the project due to shortage of funds.
He said that the authority was responsible for consultation and approval of design of the building and for construction purpose Secretariat should have provided funds or acquire approval from the Finance Ministry.
According to sources, the CDA has taken the plea that the authority has not made any budgetary allocation for the projects.
Interestingly, the CDA’s budget, which was announced by Mr. Elahi, soon after assuming charge of his office, was a surplus budget.
