Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) spokesman, while clarifying a news item titled ‘Multi-billion project may trigger multi-faceted issues’ issued by the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) and published in a section of the press on November 24, 2009, said that its contents are incorrect and not based on facts, says a press release issued here on Tuesday.

The spokesman said that the CDA has decided phase-wise completion of Zero Point interchange so that general public and commuters could be facilitated during the construction of this project. In first phase, the CDA is all set to open loops AL-09 and AL-06 catering for the traffic from Faizabad to Peshawar Morr and from Peshawar Morr to Faisal Avenue respectively.

He also clarified that there is no immediate need to widen the Kashmir Highway beyond the project limit. It may be taken up later during widening of Kashmir Highway.

However, there is a need for proper traffic arrangement between sectors G-7 and G-8 for which Planning Wing of the CDA is already in process of hiring of consultants because the additional work cannot be awarded to the present consultants as their bridge profile code has been withdrawn by the Pakistan Engineering Council. Similarly, the traffic arrangements at I-8 intersection are also being looked into by the CDA Planning Wing for better solution.
