LAHORE: The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) is trying to resolve an issue with Paragon City Housing Scheme, whose administration registered an FIR against DHA’s security guards under six different sections of the Criminal Procedure Code of Pakistan.

According to Paragon City Housing Scheme General Manager Ata-Ur-Rehman an FIR was lodged with Burki police station alleging that DHA security in-charge Major ® Aslam and Billu Derh along with 100 security guards raided the housing society and damaged the sewerage system, and gas pipelines.

Talking to Daily Times, Rehman said that the accused raided their offices and caused damages of more than Rs 5 million. He claimed that the accused, armed with sophisticated weapons, abducted three employees of the scheme, but released them later on.

Meanwhile, DHA Spokesman Tajamal Hussain Anjum told Daily Times that the matter was nearly resolved, as they had compromised with the management of the Paragon City Housing Scheme. However, he did not defend the DHA guards whose names were in the FIR.

Investigation officer of the case, Sub Inspector Saleem Khan, said that although he was investigating the matter, he did not know the details of the case. Hw said that no accused was arrested neither were any raids conducted for their arrests. Khan said that he had heard a rumour that the accused had obtained interim bails from the court.

Burki police on the complaint of Ata Ur Rehman registered an FIR # 509/09 under sections 342, 427, 379, 148, 149 and 337/H2. These sections deal with illegally confining any person, damaging property of anyone, committing theft, physically harming someone, hitting someone in the face or head, and rioting in a group with deadly weapons.

The reason behind the dispute is a 16 kanal piece of land situated in Paragon City, whose ownership is claimed by three parties. Sources told Daily Times that the administration of Paragon City Housing Scheme, administration of Park View Society, and Javed Yaqoob had claimed ownership of the disputed land bearing Khasra numbers 847 and 848. However, the Paragon City GM told Daily Times that he had ownership of the land, and the previous owner, Ashique, who sold out the land, could vouch for him.
