LAHORE: PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif has said that he has not asked for President Asif Zardari’s resignation or impeachment, as he does not believe in any “minus-one formula”.

Talking to a private TV channel, Nawaz said the PML-N was not involved in destabilisation of the government, adding that he did not want mid-term elections after pressurising the government. “We don’t want to see weak democracy in the country,” he said. The PML-N chief added that there was no possibility of a national government in the country.

Nawaz said JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman talked about the NRO when the government had decided not to table it in parliament. He said it was the government’s responsibility to ensure trial of former military dictator Pervez Musharraf. He said he would never make any political contacts with the PML-Quaid. daily times monitor
