THE Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore has leveled 13 acres of land for the main park of Journalists Housing Colony and now it is ready for plantation and laying grass.

This was stated by Dr. Raheel Ahmed, DG Parks and Horticulture Authority Lahore, while talking to journalists during his visit to the colony on Wednesday.

Expressing satisfaction over the pace of development work in the Journalists Housing Colony, he said iron fences had been installed around the main park. He said 20-feet deep wall would also be developed to save the park while remaining 15-feet deep trench would be converted into a beautiful landscape.

He also explained that besides the main park, the triangular parks had already been developed in all blocks of the colony.

He also said that the construction work of the greenbelts on both sides of the colony roads had been completed while fencing of the greenbelts was underway. However, he pointed out that growth of plants and grass could be affected due to non-availability of electricity.

He said the PHA already had established its tubewell but it was still waiting for the electricity connection.
