A HOUSEMAID looted cash, valuables and gold ornaments worth Rs two million from the house of a group manager of a multinational company in Defence-A police limits on Saturday.

Police said that robbery victim Abdul Sattar, a resident of XX-334 in Defence, hired a housemaid Sughran Bibi on Friday who was working at the house of victim’s daughter. She was allowed to work on a condition that she would arrange a young girl as a permanent servant.

On the day of incident, Abdul Sattar and his son left the house for their office while the victim’s wife and three housemaids, including Sughran, were present at the house. Sughran made tea at around 10am and mixed a sedative in it. As a result, Abdul Sattar’s wife and two servants went unconscious and Sughran collected the cash and valuables worth Rs two million and escaped.

Abdul Sattar’s daughter visited the house at around 1:30pm and found her mother and housemaids unconscious. She rushed the victims to Ittefaq Hospital where their condition was stated to be out of danger. SHO Defence-A Abdi Rasheed said that the police were trying to nab the accused maid.
