ISLAMABAD: Export of electric fans during the first quarter of the current fiscal year registered an increase of 41.21 per cent.

During the period of July-September 2009-10, about 454,000 electric fans were exported as compared to 326,000 units during the corresponding period last year, said figures released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics on Wednesday.

During the July-September period, $10.28m were earned by exporting electric fans as against $7.28m earned during the same period of 2008-09.

Statistics show that overall exports of engineering goods showed a declining trend as the engineering goods export was down by 7.5 per cent during the period under review.

However, it said the export of transport equipment increased by 200pc and $10 million was achieved as against last year’s $3.36 million.
