KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Environment and Alternative Energy, Shaikh Mohammed Afzal Thursday informed the Sindh Assembly that a laboratory analysis has been made for air quality in Karachi. Replying to a question of the opposition’s Arif Mustafa Jatoi during the question hour, the minister pointed out that in 2005, SUPARCO had conducted air quality testing at 26 different spots located on five major corridors of Karachi in which the quantity of sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, and suspended particulate matter were measured. The report, he said, indicated that concentration of all parameters was higher than the prescribed limits. app
