ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) will construct modern marriage lawns with latest facilities at different places in the federal capital. This was decided at a high-level meeting held here on Friday, which was chaired by Kamran Lashari, CDA chairman. The meeting was informed that 49 prominent firms had applied in response to the advertisement of which 16 had been pre-qualified after a detailed scrutiny. The 16 firms have been asked to submit their financial status within one month for further selection. Marriage lawns will be developed at Park Road, Murree Road, Sector E-11 and buffer zone. Kamran Lashari said the CDA would provide latest facilities to the public and these marriage lawns would be established on priority.

CDA assures IHC of removing garbage: Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Friday assured Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Sardar Muhammad Aslam that garbage dumped near the premises of the IHC would be removed within 10 days. Syed Mustafain Kazmi, CDA deputy director general sanitation, submitted a copy of the written agreement reached between CDA and Fauji Cement Company with the IHC and said the problem would be resolved within 10 days. After their written assurance, the IHC chief justice disposed of the case. The IHC had issued notices to the CDA chairman and director sanitation on July 29 after the chief justice took suo motu notice over press clippings. app
