Offices of CM’s Complaint Cell directors sealed

* Shahid Qadir enters Irfan Yousaf’s office, tells singer he is officer concerned

LAHORE: The offices of two directors of the Chief Minister’s (CM) Complaint Cell at 3-Club Road have been sealed after they quarreled to address a complaint by singer Humaira Arshad, and the officers have been restrained from performing official obligations until further notice.

The singer went to the complaint cell along with her husband Ahmed Butt to file a complaint against her business partner. She went to the office of Complaints Director Irfan Yousaf for the redressal of her grievances.

Jurisdiction: According to a private TV channel, Humaira was addressing Yousaf when Shahid Qadir, another complaints director, entered Yousaf’s office and asked Humaira to go to his office as he was the officer concerned. The two officers exchanged harsh words.

Taking serious notice of the incident, the CM referred the matter to the additional secretary (administration) to conduct an inquiry. Sources said both officers were found guilty in the initial inquiry, and their offices were sealed.

According to the channel, Yousaf told Qadir that there was nothing wrong with Humaira discussing the issue in his room. It said Qadir told the singer that her file was in his office.

The channel reported that the singer appeared disturbed to find the two officials quarreling. At one point, she requested the officer as well as the reporters present to pay attention to her complaint. She later left the complaint cell without properly registering her complaint.

Talking to reporters, Humaira said she and her husband had started a café, but later found out that the person who sold them the place was a fraudster, and had forged documents to sell someone else’s property. She said she was disappointed that the officers concerned had not listened to her complaint. staff report/ daily times monitor
