ISLAMABAD: A large number of federal government employees with dreams of their own houses in Islamabad will have to wait for indefinite period for their dreams come true as the Ministry for Housing and Works is still stuck in the thorny issues of land acquisition and litigation.

Bitter experiences of the past, delayed plans, shortage of funds and effective mechanism seem to be the major issues still haunting the ministry.

The officials concerned admitted that housing schemes in Sectors G-13 and G-14 were being delayed due to lingering problems.

“Acquisition of land has been a major issue for long which will take some time to be sorted out. The projects will be launched in the federal capital and four provincial capitals,” Secretary Housing Ahmed Bakhsh Lehri told APP on Friday.

He said land for construction of housing units for federal government employees in Islamabad had not been located so far by the Capital Development Authority (CDA). app
