USAID Pakistan (Jobs) project Saturday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Brightspyre and Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Sukkur to join hands for the placement of approximately 100,000 Pakistanis on highly skilled jobs, says a press release.

“This MOU will open doors to a world of opportunities for the youth and women job seekers of Pakistan,” said Amy Ramm, Chief of Party, USAID Pakistan (Jobs). “In partnership with Brightspyer - the leading job portal for the corporate sector; and IBA, Sukkur - one of the best Information Technology institutes in the country, USAID Pakistan (Jobs) will train and counsel students to get preeminent jobs in line with their interest and caliber.”

Pakistan’s economy is deficient due to low labor productivity. USAID Pakistan (Jobs) will increase the job market value by introducing highly skilled work force. This project will urge and facilitate employers to develop on-the-job training systems that will improve employee skills, bringing competitiveness amongst Pakistani firms.

USAID Pakistan (Jobs) is a five-year, $80 million project funded by US Agency for International Development (USAID) and implemented by consortium of private sector non-government and technical partner organisations led by Care International in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Industries, Production and Special Initiatives.

Since 2002, the US government has provided more than $3.4 billion to Pakistan for improvements in economic growth, education, health, governance, and assistance for earthquake reconstruction.
