QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court on Friday admitted a petition for hearing in the Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti murder case and summoned former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf and former prime minister Shaukat Aziz and others on October 7.

A single bench of the BHC, comprising Chief Justice Qazi Faiz Essa, issued the notices to former president Pervez Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, former interior minister Aftab Sherpao, former Balochistan governor Owais Ahmed Ghani, former chief minister Jam Muhammad Yousuf and former provincial minister for interior Mir Shoaib Nosherwani.

The court directed this while hearing a petition, filed by Nawabzada Jamil Akbar Bugti, for the registration of an FIR against the murder of his father and former governor and chief minister of Balochistan Nawab Akbar Bugti. They have been summoned on October 7.

Earlier, the District and Sessions Court, Sibi, had rejected Jamil Akbar Bugtiā€™s petition for lodging an FIR against the killing of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti and other Baloch people. Hadi Shakil advocate and Sohail Rajput advocate appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioner and said that the District and Sessions Court, Sibi, had rejected the petition to lodge an FIR against the killing of Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti.

After hearing the arguments, the court admitted the petition for hearing and directed to issue notices to former president Pervez Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, former interior minister Aftab Sherpao, Balochistan former governor Owais Ahmed Ghani, former chief minister Jam Muhammad Yousuf and former provincial minister for interior Mir Shoaib Nosherwani.
