NWFP Religious Affairs Minister Nemroz Khan and officials of the Auqaf Department also attended the meeting. The suggestion was tabled in the meeting that the federal government should be proposed to observe Eid and Ramzan with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He said fasting and Eid on common single day all over the country was a sign of national unity and brotherhood. He said the government and clerics should work to help the people not fell prey to any confusion.

Hoti said the committee represented the province and had been formed for collective decisions on religious and Islamic festivals, adding that the decision where the moon was sighted or not rested with the committee.
