LAHORE: The Housing Directorate Adjutant General Branch of General Headquarters Rawalpindi has busted a group of property dealers for forging property documents and other malpractices in land administered by the Pakistan Army.

Lahore Cantt Assistant Director Housing Administration Lt Col ® Muhammad Bashir has lodged an FIR against two of the offenders – Zafarullah Khan alias Major Zafar and Shahzada Aftab Anwar Sheikh.

The Housing Directorate followed information received on May 25 in the form of a letter by Ayesha Siddiqa wife of Shaukat Saeed, a resident of Bridge Colony Askari-II Lahore Cantt. The woman thanked the department for issuing a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the transfer of her residence in her name, and had attached a copy of the NOC with the letter.

However, after checking the facts, the officials of the directorate realised that they had not issued any such NOC, and it was a forged document. A copy of the FIR, available with Daily Times, states that the officials later probed and caught Aftab Anwar and Zafarullah who own two estate agencies in Bridge Colony and Officers Colony.

Officials of the directorate told Daily Times that these men had received money from Ayesha Siddiqa, promising to get her the NOC. The South Cantonment Police have registered an FIR against the accused and started investigation.
