LAHORE: The Consumer Court has summoned a doctor for preparing and sending a medical report to the Saudi embassy in Islamabad about the health of a Raiwind-based young man, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday.

The young man approached the Consumer Court and stated that he had lost his job as in-charge of a main power unit in Saudi Arabia as a laboratory in Canal View issued him a ‘false’ medical certificate. He said the doctor at the laboratory sent the medical report to the embassy after his check-up.

In the report, the laboratory stated the young man had Hepatitis C, he said. He said he consulted several other laboratories for Hepatitis C tests, but the tests confirmed that he did not have viral Hepatitis C.

According to the channel, the young man submitted all his medical tests before the court and stated that he was healthy. He said he had lost his job. He claimed Rs 20 million in damages.
